Walking down a 6 block stretch of Broad Street each day I notice a bunch of characters. People can be found in every nook in the city, you just have to look. It is seems pretty easy for most people to pass bye people with your head down, ear buds blaring, and a wall up to the world that surrounds you. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work to well for me, because I like to watch people and think, which leads me to my purpose.
For the next year or so…give or take how quickly I can do a write-ups of the people I see. My goal is to write 365 sketches of the people I see on the street, in shops, restaurants, bars, parks, museums, and on buses. The only thing that you can be certain about these people is their physical description, their location, and maybe a name, initials or a picture. The rest will be my impressions, judgments, and guesses to who these people are and what they are all about. I hope that by the end of the project readers will be able to get a sense of how I see people, Philadelphia, and myself.
These will be drafts open to suggestions and commentary. I want input. The more help, the better I can make this blogging exercise
